Trekking with the world’s last remaining mountain gorillas takes place at Bwindi National Park, the largest national park in the three nations that are home to these primates. One of the world’s oldest national parks, the park extends over 321 square kilometers.
The park is renowned for its mountain gorillas and is situated in the southwestern region of Uganda. A wide variety of animals, including 800 mountain gorillas, birds, trees, antelopes, and primates, call this national park home.
A native phrase meaning “darkness” is the origin of the name Bwindi. The forest is rich with trees and streams, and hiking through it demands a high level of physical endurance due to the many steep mountains that must be climbed.
There are a wide variety of animals and plants found in the park, including 18 habituated groups of mountain gorillas, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, mammals, reptiles, butterflies, frogs, birds, and many more.
Note that they are wild creatures; they keep on moving. A gorilla hike may take anything from thirty minutes to three quarters of a day, depending on the location of the mountain gorillas and where they last fed and nested.

Day 1: Pickup from the Guest House/Hotel in Entebbe/Kampala and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Upon finishing my morning, Joe. This early morning drive allows us to reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park early and avoid traffic jams; our guide will pick you up from your hotel or guest house and give you a briefing regarding the full three-day trip and the en-route stops you will be making.
Take a drive to the southwestern region of Uganda, stopping near the equator for some picture opportunities and stretching breaks. Visit the gift stores to bring home a memento of your vacation, and stand between the imaginary lines that straddle the planet. As you make your way to Mbarara town, keep an eye out for long-horn cattle grazing along the roadside.
As you pass through banana fields and other picturesque landscapes, including rolling hills, you will eventually arrive in Bwindi.
After your arrival at the resort, check in, relax, and enjoy supper.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking adventure.
You will meet your guide again after breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters, where you and your other visitors will gather at 7:30 in the morning for a training on what to do and what not to do when you encounter the gorillas in the forest. Depending on the location of the mountain gorillas, the trek can take anything from thirty minutes to three quarters of a day. To begin, meet the game ranger.
Among the various tree types you’ll pass on your trip are those that are home to a wide variety of birds, primates like black and white colobus monkeys, animals, and many more. A walking stick will be your best friend on those muddy, steep hills, and you’ll need to be in reasonably good shape to complete the hike.
You will get an hour to spend in close proximity to the gorillas for picture opportunities while listening to educational talks provided by the rangers and wardens after you meet our close relatives. You will be given a Gorilla certificate following your gorilla encounter, so after lunch in the bush, you should go back to the resort to celebrate.
Get back to the lodge and unwind.Join the Batwa Community in the evening for a cultural immersion experience. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest, and you’ll be captivated by their mesmerizing dances, poetry, and more.
You should be in reasonably good shape before going gorilla tracking since the walk is rather tough.
Day 3: Departure back to Kampala
First thing in the morning: breakfast. After saying goodbye to the resort and the unforgettable gigantic mountain gorillas, you will begin your adventure through the breathtaking “Switzerland of Uganda” with its undulating hills, terraces, and verdant flora.
